Research and Opinion Paper1

Week 2 Research and Opinion Paper1

1.1
When Bill Gates founded Microsoft his dream was “A computer in every home that anyone could use.” According to the USDOC in 1984 1 out of 5, or 47 million people age 3 years of age or older used a computer.
Newer, more secure, innovative operating systems, faster, cooler, more efficient processors, as well as a sough of HD video and audio cards and massive hard drives have hit the market since 1982 when the anonymous quote from a BBC radio broadcast aired “ to err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer.” Showing the feelings consumers once had about computers.
Today overall consumers are more optimistic about the impact of computers such as: advances in education and new career opportunities. However optimistic about the added convenience of computers many consumers are guarded of the risks of computers such as identity theft.
